✔️You aren’t being the man you are capable of being

Do you sometimes feel alone, do you cut yourself off from others or find it hard to relate? As a child maybe your father was passive, or maybe he was angry and tyranical. Maybe he wasn’t even there.

When men don’t grow up with healthy male role models they simply can’t be the fathers, partners, husbands that they’d like to be. Redefining your relationship with your Father and masculinity is at the heart of you being the man you need to be.


✔️You aren’t saying “yes” to life and are often passive or Playing Small

There’s a voice in you that doesn’t believe in you. And it holds you back. You can revert back to coasting without noticing. We look at how to stop playing small and step up to where you should be.


✔️You regularly get stuck in “ON” mode and can often be Reactive

You are mainly ON. On the go. Checking phone first thing and last thing, so much to do - so little time. Often giving opinions when not sought, thinks he knows best, reactive, explosive, firefighting, not resolving fights or saying sorry - your work here evolves around controlling your emotions and understanding the triggers.


✔️You can slip into a Victim Mentality

Do you fall into victim mode too often for your liking and get stuck, or go to the other extreme and blame others and point the finger?

✔️You play the Nice Guy

Find yourself saying yes when it should have been no. Giving in to things for an 'easy life', wanting to be liked and wanted. You can come across as easy going - from the outside you are a great guy, a popular guy. You might also use passive aggression and sulky behaviours to make a point, or try and change people’s behaviours.


✔️Your Thinking is holding you back

Now you're pushing yourself to new horizons, wanting more growth, the shameful voice and historical conditions appear. We look at how to become the man you're supposed to be and tackle the inner enemy, because you know you are your own harshest critic.


✔️You have habits you are ashamed of

Do you struggle with self-mastery? Do you find it difficult to make change stick? Is your addiction to your phone/vaping/porn *add what’s applicable holding you back and sabotaging you? Do you have a negative relationship with the idea of discipline and what that represents to you? On this retreat you will learn why and what you need to do.

You're doing your best to avoid upsetting folk, treading carefully around them. You struggle to understand your needs and are unclear about how to set boundaries effectively. This immersion is designed to help you step out of your ‘ordinary’ life into an ‘extra-ordinary’ space, from where you will be able to see yourself and your life with greater clarity.


You are invited to organise your life so you can be fully engaged in the training for its entire duration, without any outside distractions.


This dedicated focus is part of what makes the immersion training so powerful.

Equipment & Clothing

  • You will need to bring exercise clothing for the workouts & swimming gear (if you want to dip in the river Tweed)
  • Effective waterproof kit including a backpack, as well as good walking shoes or hiking boots
  • Plenty of warm layers (it is Scotland in winter)
  • Travel mug with lid and a reusable travel water bottle for the hike
  • A yoga mat and blanket will be needed

I founded The Man Program after experiencing the potent life-changing effects of being in men’s groups myself, going on men’s retreats and being mentored by expert facilitators, coaches & therapists in the men’s work world.’


Andy is a keen runner, nature lover, cold water enthusiast, & highly experienced coach who has coached & transformed the lives of thousands of people.


The Man Program’s Mission: create a global community of healed, empowered men, guiding them to be the leaders, role models, fathers, partners and mentors that our world needs now, more than ever.

Through education, providing community, and embodiment work and coaching.

The Venue

An 18th century country house, 30 miles south of Edinburgh by road, high in the peaks of the Tweed Valley in the Scottish Borders, with 6 acres of private grounds.
